Biom Paris is a French start-up who advocates for sustainability by creating environmentally-friendly everyday objects. In collaboration with Alan Philippart and agency Mu, we helped Biom design their first product: the bbb La Brosse toilet brush.
In order to make the bbb brush as eco-friendly as possible, its entire life cycle was studied, starting with the very beginning.
Instead of bristles, little spikes were integrated into the design. The spikes clean just as effectively and give the bbb brush a much longer life than a traditional brush. The spikes also do not collect water and do not drip all over the seat or floor, as a traditional brush does.
Its biomimetic design is inspired by a leaf and its veins, which helps guide water to the tip and easily off of the surface. With its unique shape, the bbb brush can even get into smaller corners where a traditional toilet brush may not.
The brush’s material is also part of the circular economy: it is made from a bioplastic issued from farming waste and recycled materials. Also, keeping production in France was a notable way to keep the footprint small for the French and European markets.
